The TRA wants to make sure that all people in the FSM have access to good quality internet, mobile and fixed line services and other telecommunications services, at a good price. To support this, we:
- aim to facilitate competition through our rules so that users have a choice as to which telecommunication services firm they buy services from;
- require all firms to have a license to provide their services;
- require firms to tell you about the terms and prices of their services and send invoices that provide clear and accurate information about your payments;
- require firms to provide consumer complaint processes that you, the user, can use to resolve issues you have with the firm;
- may make rules relating to the price for telecommunications service for the larger firms if the TRA considers it appropriate;
- can seek to take a firm to court if it is not following the rules.
If you think that there is a problem with the telecommunications services you are being provided, we might be able to help. See the Your Rights section for more detail about what you should expect from firms, and the User Complaints section for more detail about how to resolve problems.
