The TRA commenced work in FY 2019. Since then the TRA has:
- Drafted, consulted and overseen the coming into legal effect of rules and regulations that apply to telecommunications services and radio spectrum
- Issued licenses to telecommunications providers to enable them to provide services in the FSM. A list of the licenses can be found at Public Register of Licenses
- Raised awareness of the TRA and our role in relation to both users and telecommunication services firms.
- Provided Annual Market Development Reports to the President outlining the changes required for the telecommunications market in order to improve access to services and prices of services
- Working with the government to encourage new investments and operators into the FSM
- Working with current operators to help them understand and comply with the rules & regulations
- Working with stakeholders and giving effect to an open market
- Enhancing the awareness of customers so they better understand operators obligations and customers rights.
- Developing a strong information base to enable the TRA to assets the quality and price of operators services, and customer satisfaction with those services and prices.
