As a user of a telecommunication service, you have rights that telecommunications service firms must respect and uphold. These rights include:
- Being made aware of the terms and conditions that apply to any services you use.
- Not being charged more than other users, unless there is a good reason.
- Get accurate and detailed invoices in writing, on a regular basis and in clear language.
- Not being misled by service providers as to the price, availability or quality of communications services.
- A fair and transparent complaints and disputes resolution process being provided by the firm.
- Only being charged for telecommunications equipment you have requested, and not being made to pay for equipment a firm installs without your consent.
- To have your customer and communications information kept confidential, and to be able to inspect that information.
